Privacy Policy

TestCircle is developed by GreenAnt Apps.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Important note on Google accounts: You may sign in to TestCircle with any Google account. However, to install other developers’ apps, you must join our Master Google Group at https://groups.google.com/g/testcircle-testers using the Google account linked to your Android test device — this may be a different account to the one you use to sign in to TestCircle. Additionally, you must add testcircle-testers@googlegroups.com to your app’s closed testing track in Google Play Console so other testers can install your app. TestCircle collects account information from your sign-in account only.
To provide the TestCircle service, we collect the following information:
Account information (via Google Sign-In):
- Your Google account email address
- Your Google display name
- Your Google profile photo URL
This information is used solely for authentication and account management. Your personal contact details, email, or Google profile are never displayed alongside your feedback or messages. How you are identified depends on the activity:
- Single Tests: Feedback is completely anonymous. Developers cannot see who wrote the feedback or link it to any specific user or app.
- Group Tests & In-App Messaging: Feedback and chat messages are attributed strictly to your submitted app. Other testers in your active group will see your app’s name and icon, but your personal Google account details remain hidden.
App submission details:
- App name, package name, and Play Store URL
- App icon
- App pricing details and optional test account credentials (username, password, additional notes) — used solely duly to allow testers to access your app
Testing activity and communication:
- Test feedback forms (your written responses to testing prompts — automatically deleted within 30 days)
- In-App Messaging: Text messages and image/screenshot attachments exchanged with group members during active Group Tests to help clarify feedback, share bugs, or coordinate testing.
- Screenshots uploaded as proof of install, to illustrate bugs, or shared within chat messages (automatically deleted within 30 days)
- Timestamps of key actions (installs, submissions, logins, messages sent)
Consent and legal:
- Timestamp of consent acceptance and date of the Privacy Policy accepted
Technical:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging token (for push notifications)
We use your information solely to operate the TestCircle platform:
- To display, list, or feature your submitted apps to other testers on the platform (including via group tracking systems, public testing lists, or featured app sections)
- To facilitate community communication and feedback resolution via the in-app messaging system in Group Tests
- To track testing progress, individual test assignments, and task completion
- To send you notifications about testing activity and feedback received
- To generate an AI-assisted summary of feedback received on your app
- To detect and address abuse, harassment, or low-quality content (via our in-app flag system for testing feedback, text verification prompts for messages, and user email reports)
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in Section 3.
3. Third-Party Services
TestCircle uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google AI (via Firebase AI Logic) — used to generate anonymised summaries of tester feedback. Only anonymised feedback text is sent — no personal data, no account information, no identifiers. A note about this processing is included in this policy in compliance with GDPR requirements.
- Google Play — testers access your app via the Google Play Store closed testing track.
4. Data Retention
- Chat messages and attachments are automatically deleted after the group testing cycle ends, and at most within 30 days. Senders can also manually delete individual messages or attachments at any time within the app by long-pressing a message.
- Screenshots (including those shared in chats) are automatically deleted within 30 days.
- Testing feedback (written responses by other app users) is automatically deleted within 30 days. AI-generated summaries are retained for as long as your account is active.
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- On account deletion, all your personal data, app submissions, and testing history are permanently deleted from our systems. Screenshots and active chat history are handled by their respective manual or 30-day auto-cleanup cycles.
5. Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from within the app:
- Open TestCircle and sign in with the account you with to delete
- Tap the menu icon (top right)
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm — your account and associated data will be deleted as detailed hereafter
What is deleted:
- Your account (Google Sign-In credentials unlinked)
- Your app submissions and testing history
- Your notification history
What is not immediately deleted:
- Screenshots you uploaded are subject to the 30-day auto-cleanup cycle described in Section 4
- Feedback you wrote for other developers’ apps is retained so they can access the testing results they received. This feedback remains disassociated from your personal account information, is identified by app name/anonymously depending on the test track, and is automatically deleted within 30 days.
- Messages you sent in active Group Test chats will remain visible to the other members of that active testing group to ensure continuity of the test cycle. These messages remain attributed only to your app’s identity and will be entirely purged via the 30-day auto-delete function. You may manually delete individual messages prior to deleting your account.
If you are unable to access the app, you may also request account deletion by contacting us at greenantapps@gmail.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. We will process your request within 30 days.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — delete your account and all associated data from within the app, or contact us
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to processing of your data

7. Data Security
All data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security. Access to your data is restricted by Firestore security rules — users can only access the app information and testing materials necessary to discover apps, communicate in active chat pools, and perform active tests. Optional test credentials you provide for your app are only visible to logged-in testers who are actively participating in a test for your app.
If abusive, harmful, or policy-violating messages are reported to us by developers via our Support contact options, we reserve the right to manually review the affected group chat logs to enforce our platform safety standards.
8. Children’s Privacy
TestCircle is intended for adult developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be published at this URL and the version date will be updated. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
